SALES - DIRECT OUTSIDE SALES

Job Description

Our suite of products is used by plumbers and contractors to locate and assess blockages in pipes and drains of various sizes as well as to map underground infrastructure.  Our environment is not corporate, but rather entrepreneurial, dynamic, challenging, exciting, and rewarding.  Those people with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive will be successful.  

We are looking for two (2) full-time sales professionals with the hunger to drive revenue and make significant commissions by making and taking sales calls when they come in at any time of day.  To be successful at Hathorn you must have the hunger and tenacity to "not take no for an answer".  You must not be afraid of the phone or cold calling or giving on-site demos.

Please note that these roles are initially an on site role at our Markham HQ.  Over time these roles can become more remote as trust is built.  To be eligible for this position you must be eligible to live and work in Canada and have a valid Ontario driver's license.

About the Role:

We are looking for candidates who are dynamic team players that have excellent attention and are not afraid to cold call, create sales leads, runs sales campaigns, and create demo days.

  • Research and probe to gain a good understanding of customer’s needs and make product and service recommendations.

  • Conduct outbound telephone sales campaigns and correspond through e-mail

  • Conduct outside calls and demonstrations to potential and existing customers

  • Participate in strategic account sales programs

  • Perform sales business development from an existing customer portfolio

  • Explore new growth opportunities to meet or exceed revenue targets

  • Manage existing accounts and achieve forecasted revenue targets

  • Work closely with the Dealer Channel Sales Manager to identify opportunities and engage the appropriate resources to develop them

  • Work with the Marketing Team on campaign based projects

  • Maintain excellent customer service relations and activity records in Microsoft Business Central (CRM)

About You:

You have a university degree, exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to digest a lot of information quickly.  

  • Fluent in written and spoken English with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • 1-3 years of direct sales experience with exposure to any of the following:

    • Door to door sales

    • Technical machinery sales

    • Call center sales

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Strong CRM experience and experience running a sales funnel

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines

  • Above average typing skills

  • Experience as a team player and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

  • Proven capabilities with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

  • Full Ontario driver's license

ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY TECHNICIANS

Job Description

We are the leader in the underground pipe inspection technology industry. Hathorn Corporation (www.hathorncorp.com) has been in business for almost 20 years designing and manufacturing underground pipe inspection cameras. We are in a growth phase and require the help of experienced Electronic Assembly Technicians.

Located at our HQ in Markham, the Electronic Assembly Technicians will be primarily responsible for assembling new subassemblies and cross training into other electronic parts for our products and repairing existing equipment. These two roles would suit individuals who have experience in electronic assembly and service of small electronic/mechanical parts.

Please note that these roles are not an apprenticeship and will not lead to nor support any electrical or industrial certification.

Key Duties

  • Assembling subassemblies using custom built electronic and mechanical components

  • Soldering board level components such as LEDs, small gauge wires and micro slip rings

  • Testing completed camera heads for quality control

  • Trouble shooting and repairing of parts

  • Soldering cables & terminations

  • Reading schematics

  • Mechanical assembly & disassembly of camera heads – very small parts

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Fluency in verbal and written English is a requirement

  • Problem solving skills - resourceful, uncovers ways to overcome obstacles, asks ‘why’, thinks ahead, does not work in isolation

  • Experience with mechanical assembly and use of hand tools

  • Extreme attention to detail and a great attitude – we want a team player

  • Diploma from technical school in electronics related field preferred

  • Experience fixing and diagnosing electrical faults (TV repair, electronics repair, LED lights etc.)

  • Ability to read/update simple schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Communication - positive, professional manner with colleagues and clients

  • Collaborative - contributes to team achievement and success

  • Organization and time-management - works efficiently to manage and meet deadlines
